Fan Tan Quick Guide

Fan Tan, or fancan tan in Chinese, is an ancient Chinese game of betting. It has been played for thousands of years in China. Like many ancient games, it is entirely random and does not require skill or strategy. It also features the same lack of sophistication seen in modern casino gambling games. In short, it's fun to play, and you get to spend a bit of time doing something you're interested in.

The basic rules of this card game are simple and easy to learn. The player is given 52 cards and then chooses two cards to face up. Two other cards are hidden in the deck. The two suits Tiger (Water) represent the planets surrounding the star cluster Sol in constellations of the night sky.

At the start of the game each player is dealt two cards face up. Each player can then place as many cards as they wish on their betting board, starting at one and ending at seven. The King is the first card dealt. This card represents the strongest card in the pack and hence the most valuable. If a card lands on sevens, players may lose all their money and bet in favor of the King. If no cards are landed on sevens for the whole session, the dealer reveals them and the player loses only on the first card they reveal.

The dealer begins the game with their last known card, the Queen, after the second card has been dealt. The Queen can be bet by the players based on their knowledge. It can be either golden red, black, or blue. The cards are dealt in central part of the table. Players may remove cards to make them convertible from one suit to another. If a player wishes to change a card he's just dealt, all the players must consult and then take turns. After that, the dealer will announce that time has gone and now it is the time for the blind fold fan-tan. Fan Tan is played by placing the cards face-down on the table. After everyone has folded and the fan-tan has been played, the dealer will inform the players that the time has passed and the blind fold card can be used.

All the other players must take turns holding the cards with their faces up. The dealer will ask the player which card he would like to choose from the two piles. Then that player has to pass his hand over to the next player who will in turn have to choose a card from the same pile. This continues till each player has passed his turn. Once all the cards are laid out in the same manner, the dealer will announce that the card dealt has been revealed and now the player has to either announce that he chooses a card from any of the two piles or else reveal his hand.

After the reveal, a second round of Fan Tan will begin. The players will then choose the cards they want to discard. The player who has discarded the cards the fastest is the first to reveal their cards. The person who gets the most cards in the end must reveal his cards. The person who has the fewest cards has to get rid of them. If the player with most cards discarded them then the player with less cards can continue and choose another player to keep their cards.
