Doodle God, which launched in 2010 by JoyBits, put a puzzle-based twist on the world-building genre. Doodle God expanded into a series that includes titles like Doodle Devil, Doodle Mafia, Doodle Farm and more. On Friday, Doodle God Universe joined Apple Arcade's vast selection of games.

In Doodle God Universe, you'll combine different elements -- starting with air, earth water, and fireand build new elements and objects to your worlds with the help of puzzles, ultimately creating your own universe, and supporting the life within it.

While Doodle God Universe will feel familiar to players who have played any of the games prior, Paul, a brand advocate for JoyBits who prefers to only use his initials, says in many ways this is an entirely new game. Making up world-building games that are chaotic and imaginative games like Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria and The Sims have supplied gamers with endless hours of entertainment for many years. As with all world-building games, Paul says Doodle God Universe is about exploration and searching for the new and unexpected.

"World building games can be fascinating for a long time, and lots of players would like to 're-read' Doodle God over and over again like a good book," Paul said. "And when you're in the complete lockdown in which a person spends almost all the time at home- what can be better than re-reading a favorite book, re-watching [your] favorite TV show or re-creating the world in the Doodle God Universe?"

To enjoy the most enjoyment from the game, players who pick up Doodle God Universe should be open to experiments, Paul says. Doodle God Universe rewards curiosity.

Paul said, "Use your imagination. Let creativity be your engine." "And there's no specific pattern when playing the game, you can try to utilize your logical thinking or mix elements in a chaotic way."

With the launch of Doodle God Universe, Angry Birds Reloaded and Alto's Odyssey, Apple Arcade is nearing 200 games with more still to be added.
